T-barbers to boycott ‘Telangana betrayers’

The Telangana Nayee Brahmin association on Tuesday announced that it would boycott the MLAs who do not quit their posts after January 29, if the Centre does not make a positive statement on Telangana.

The barbers made a statement in Karimnagar that they would not do hair cut or shaving of the Telangana betrayers. Many other caste organisations such as washermen, cobblers, milkmen and even agriculture labourers are planning to boycott works in the houses of leaders, who do not give up their posts and join the Telangana movement.

In fact, in the initial days of the movement, various castes made a similar announcement but after December 9 statement of Home Minister P Chidambaram, they did not pursue it. Now, they say they are more serious. Similar protests were followed during the 1969 movement, too, when the caste organisations boycotted all the Andhra leaders and businessmen.

Looks like the non-cooperation movement is on.
