My comments were distorted by the media : Sankaracharya
The pontiff had yesterday said that “if Andhra Pradesh is split, it would be disastrous. Maoists will become stronger. There is no need to bifurcate the state where all people speak Telugu”.
Students and leaders from Telangana cutting across party lines condemned the pontiff’s remarks. TRS leaders burnt his effigy outside a temple run by the Kanchi Peetham at Skandagiri in Secunderabad.
Students of Osmania University also held a protest march on the campus and burnt an effigy of the seer.
However, when asked his reaction over the row triggered by his remarks, the seer told reporters today that “there is nothing wrong in carving out a separate state if overwhelming public opinion is in favour of it.”
He said the media had distorted his remarks.

Swamiji, there is a "Jagadguru" title in front of your name. This means you are not only guru for Telugu people but for the entire world who ever feel like it so.
So many states in India got bifurcated to create brand new states. Why did not you opposed them as a guru.
Here Hyderabad/Telangana state which was existing earlier was merged with Seemandhra to create AP against the report of first SRC of Justice Fazal Ali and against the wishes of Mazority Telanganites.
Since the promices given to us before and after merging were not honoured and fulfilled, we now demanding to restore back as it is how we joined with Seemandhra.
Without going into all these details and history of events, we think under the influence of Seemandhra lobby at Guntur, you have reacted against Telangana.
Knowledgeless comments from the great guru's like you will not give "Shoba" to your position.
Please come to Telangana and know the pulse of our people, then justify your comments at Guntur.
With great respect on "Jagatguruji".

Sorry friends, this sentence 'and they tried to portray us as a ‘Samakyavadi’ this is what I understand' should be read as :
"and they tried to portray YOU as a ‘Samakyavadi’ this is what I understand"

The Pope is the leader of all Catholics. But there is no equivalent in Hindus (also Muslims after the Caliphate was abolished). Titles like Jagadguru, Swamy etc. are honorary only without any deeper significance.
This means statements like these (or that of "Baba" Ramdev) are in their individual capacity, not on behalf of the religion.
One request to the Kanchi "Sankaracharya": please feel free to support any viewpoint but avoid statements like "paramathusthulu will become a majority in Telangana". India belongs to all Indians.

Andhra leaders can go to any level and use money, power, religion etc.,to suppress the movement but they can never cool down the heart burns of Telanganites. If they try to suppress then they are only losers as the bifurcation will get delay and this feelings will continue.3yrs kid in my house says Jai! Telangana!.
The politicians, land mafia, illegal bussiness, black money holders are only provacating common people in seemadhra. The feeling of Telangana is existing for decades.Bifurcation is not going to effect a common man fm Andhra and the greedy politicians of Andhra misleading the situation.my request to Andhra brothers is to think in different angle on humanitarian ground. We have seen more than 50 yrs of merger but the hearts of telanganites still burning.Go around Telangana and find out yourself.Lets be wise and humanbeings my brothers!!!!
