IT sector to be included under ESMA. Techies can no more participate in strikes.
The Rosaiah government has decided to include IT sector under ESMA (Essential Service Maintenance Act). IT minister, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy indicated that a Bill to amend ESMA would be introduced in the current Assembly session. He claimed that the amendment was necessary to spare IT industry from disruption to their mission critical applications during agitations.
This move essentially makes the strikes illegal in the IT sector. Now none of the IT employees can participate in strikes and also if any group of outside agitators try to stop the IT functioning then they would be arrested immediately.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to create investment and business friendly environment in the State, Mr Reddy said that an exemption of IT units, particularly small and medium enterprises from power cuts would also be considered.

If you really worried about IT industry, improve infrastructure, make sure they get 24 hours power supply. Venkat Reddy, stop cheap tricks. This perfectly suites to your cheap mentality.
