TRS going all out to clinch victory in bypolls
The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) is leaving no stone unturned in its bid to clinch victory in the bypolls for Siddipet Assembly segment.
Even before there is clarity on whether the rival parites would field their candidates for the polls in the segment, TRS candidate and former MLA T Harish Rao is busy implementing a two-pronged strategy to secure a thumping win.
Rao wants both the Congress and the TDP to contest the polls but ensure that the candidates lose their deposits and thereby prove that the Telangana sentiment is strong.
Apart from making the 86 villages in the constituency adopt unanimous resolution that they would vote only for Harish Rao, he is also trying to attract leaders of rival parties in the villages to join the TRS.
Rao had already seen to it that villagers of Tornala and Irukod in Siddipet mandal and Gatlamalya and Palakula in Nanganoor mandals took resolutions that they would cast their valuable votes only to Harish Rao who had quit his post for the cause of Telangana. The enthusiastic villagers even gave some money to the party asking Rao to use it for his campaign.
The people in the above four villages had accorded a warm welcome to the TRS leader during his visit earlier. The party leaders are making all attempts to ensure that 25 per cent of the villages in the constituency adopt unanimous resolutions on voting to Rao, by the time the notification for the bypolls is out.
TDP leaders of Chinnagundavelli in Siddipet mandal had already resigned from the party primary membership and joined the TRS. The village leaders said they were quitting the party as their chief N Chandrababu Naidu had not announced his support to Telangana and their MLAs have not submitted their resignations for the cause of separate State.
The TRS functionaries and leaders are trying to emulate the same tactics in other villages. Harish Rao who had begun his political career with the 2004 bypolls won with a majority of 24,000 votes despite the presence of a strong rival. He is the nephew of TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao.
Since then he has been mingling with the people and submitted his resignation in 2008, in accordance with the party chief’s orders. However, he was re-elected in the bypolls with a majority of 58,953 votes — more than the 57,000 vote majority achieved by his uncle.
The Congress and TDP leaders lost their deposits in this bypoll. In 2009, Harish Rao won with a majority of 64,014 votes against his Congress rival.

Why did they resign at the first place? What they have achieved? Waste of public money. Doubtful that TRS will win al the seats.

@Khan, resigning and going for elections 'repeatedly' is not unconstitutional as nothing is mentioned about this in the book of law. Based on this ur question of 'waste of public money' is invalid.

In this By Elections, the parties which are trying to show their one up manship,are going to get a drubbing of their lives, the power base in Delhi is going to get rude awakening to the Telangana struggle.
The Congress & TDP will have to really think hard, not for this ByElections,but even in 2014.

This will give an idea to Cong-I in Delhi what to expect in the next elections.
No party can win Telangana except TRS in any election if there is no Telangana state by then. Go to any village you will see how angry they with these political parties who promised Telangana in every election. They can cheat us once or twice but they can't cheat us forever.

you are forgetting that Seema and andhra leaders submitted their resignations too. It is not just TRS. Seema andhra leaders submitte all fake resignations. No single resignation was eligible to accept. TRS is honest and they submitted resignations not fake resignations.
You will see in future what they achieved.

they are not making foolish statements.
Tell me one thing. What did they get by resigning to their seats. this is the second time TRS did this. they are simply wasting money and making fools out of them selves. every one in the state is quiet sure that they are not going to win all the seats they resigned. thats why this Harish rao is doing all this.

Dont u know whose victory is Hyderabad sixth zone. It is the victory of TELANGANA people which happened because of only only only TRS and KCR.

@AP, if the resolutions and regulations r against the law u ppl r jumping to conclusions and writing like shouting at us this against th law that is against the constitution, so repeatdly going for election is not against the law / constitution. BTW, why don't u apply ur commonsense for the underdevelopment, discriminations towards Telangana by SA dominated assembly? Why u ppl always rush to say Telangana is better developed than SA?
