Surge in Telangana Movies. Next, ‘Yamalokam Lo Jai Telangana’.

Producers of movies on Telangana are getting support from leaders of Telangana organisations and are confident of a good response from people in the wake of the separate state movement. Five movies are being made on Telangana subject right now, among which are Yamalokam Lo Jai Telangana and Dhoom… Dham.
Reputed film director R. Narayana Murthy is making Veera Telangana and has announced that he will also make Poru Telangana in the near future. Another director N. Shankar from Nalgonda is also making a film on Telangana and is inviting artistes from the region to act in it.

Telangana artiste Rasamai Balakishan who was associated with the TRS till recently, and who used to organise ‘Dhoom Dham’ programmes for the party is producing a movie, Yamalokam Lo Jai Telangana. Mr Balakishan said that 18 days’ shooting was completed so far and they were trying to release the film in mid-June.

Efforts are being made to bring eminent personalities from the Telangana region to the limelight through documentaries and serials. These include Komuram Bheem and Ramji Gond from Adilabad who fought against the Nizam and British respectively for the rights of Adivasis. Suresh Kumar of the district, a producer of Telugu serials and a Nandi awardee is making a teleserial on Komuram Bheem and a documentary on Ramji Gond.
