T-woes over? JP Morgan set to open office in city
HYDERABAD: City’s T-woes now seem to be a thing of the past, with the city once again emerging as a favourite destination of the IT and ITeS sector. After Facebook, it’s now destination Hyderabad for financial services giant JP Morgan, which is all set to put up its global service centre in the city as part of its plans to ramp up its back office operations in India. While no investment details were available, sources told TOI that JP Morgan is setting up a technology and operations centre in the city’s IT hub of Madhapur with plans to hire close to 400 people to begin with. The centre is expected to become operational this year. In fact, if sources are to be believed, the company has already kicked off the recruitment process in the city and has also identified a property at the Raheja MindSpace SEZ in Hi-Tec City. “The company has already started fitouts at the office site. Plans are afoot to put in place a fairly large team of around 350-400 people to start with and later scale it up,” a source said. While to begin with the company is only setting up a technology and operations centre in the city, it could later expand it to include other services like research and treasury services as well, sources said. When contacted, a JP Morgan spokesperson confirmed that the company was indeed setting up a global service centre in Hyderabad but refused to divulge any headcount or investment details. “As part of our plans to expand our presence in India we are setting up a centre in Hyderabad and it is expected to commence operations in mid or later part of fiscal 2010-11. As a policy we do not disclose any numbers,” the spokesperson said. Currently, JP Morgan’s India operations are headquartered in Mumbai with offices in Delhi as well as three global service centres spread across Mumbai and Bangalore employing over 10,000 people. The Hyderabad centre will be JP Morgan’s fourth global service centre. It was in 2003 that the US banking major had set up captive business process outsourcing units in the Raheja MindSpace in Malad and Technopolis Knowledge Park in Andheri to undertake research activities and transaction processing for investment banking, financial services and investment management. This was followed by another unit in Bangalore.

This is a true reflection of the sentiments of Telanganites.Seema Andhra leaders wanted to prove that Hyderabad developed because of them and no one will set up industries in Hyderabad if T- State becomes a reality. The first jolt to their calculation came from M.I.M. when they categorically told Srikrishna that Hyderabad is a part and parcel of Telangana and should remain its capital even if it meant bifurcation of Andhrapradesh.The second jolt is given by J.P. Morgan.The other day I overheard a marwari speaking that when people like him have been staying in Hyderabad much before Andhra came into existence in 1956 ,why Seema andhra settlers are making a hue and cry now.He was of the opinion that Seemaandhra are resisting only fearing that they will loose the capacity to influence politically to get illegal and undue benefit in jobs,buisiness and other activities which at present they have been enjoying over decades.

one JP Morgan office will not compensate for the thousands of jobs lost due to the T stir.
nothing to feel proud about or to congragulate each other , especially when the quantum of head count to be recruited is not known. there is no guarantee only t's will be recruited.the quantum of investment is also not known.
i dont know by what sense of imagination the author observes " T Woes Over ? "
any TDH can write any article pro T and it will get published in this site , irrespective of the contents i guess.

A real story.
I am from Andhra and I never discriminated against Telanganites. I am a very senior executive of my company and I have appointed one Telanganite from warangal as the project Manager. He is a brillliant guy and very hard working too for the past two years. Last week, he didnot turn upto office claimed that his grandfather died. I believed him. Today morning, I got a call from my college mate informing me that h joined in his company.
I have decided that I will never recruit any telanganite in future. I will also take a count of Telanganites in my company and phase them out.

@Sapasi, the 'true story' u wrote above may be true or creative but it is of a commonman, the same is in T, that is why some ppl from T says, we need to kick the SAs out. There might be SAs in considerable postions doing businesses but hiring Ts as per their requirements, there is a SAPASI who is gonna fire all the Ts working in his co. now, I think there is nothing wrong when T ppl say bhaago or bhagaao.

This we used against Nizam. We were helped by people from coastal and seema districts to fight against Nizamin between 1945-1948. Ask any OU professor about puchalapalli sundarayya or other great communist leaders from ANdhra. That time was a great perod for telugus who united to get out fellow telugus out of evil clutches of Nizam and feudal lords.
Remeber, that guy in HMTV is insulting telangana. Telangana cameout of banchen kalmoktha stage. Dos he mean that still doras are there in telangana?
