Election Commission may decide to hold byelections only in nine out of 12 Assembly seats
According to the rule book, if there are election petitions pending in high court, the Election Commission may decide to wait for the judgment before conducting the bypolls. So, the Election Commission may decide to hold byelections only in nine out of 12 Assembly seats in Telangana going to polls as three of the constituencies—Vemulvada, Sircilla and Warangal West— are embroiled in legal issues.
Presently, petitions are pending against Ch Ramesh who had won on TDP ticket from Vemulavada constituency in Karimnagar pertaining to his nationality. It was contended that he was a German national. Ramesh had resigned from the Assembly in February in support of T state and subsequently quit TDP and joined TRS. He is likely to be given ticket from here again.
In Sircilla, from where TRS chief K Chandrasekhar’s son K T Rama Rao contested and won, the defeated independent candidate K K Mahender Reddy filed a case stating that there was largescale rigging and bogus voting.
In Warangal West, Lok Satta candidate P Kodanda Rama Rao had filed a petition with the EC against Vinay Bhaskar of TRS who won by a margin of 6,684 votes alleging that he had exceeded the expenditure limits during campaign.

Where they won is fair election, where they lost is subject to irregularities and needs peitions in the courts, if this what the democracy is then I wish we undergo the same Britishraj at least we won't have such liberty to make mockery of everything. Which candidate not overspent in the election? Ridiculous system and laws.
The guy was Indian or not is not verified when he submitted his nomination? Why? the EC is so impotent or bribed or what?
If the verdict of EC on the results of 09 elections which paved way for cong-i to fomr the govt. then all other results should be accepted, why this discrimination?

Syed…
Be careful what u wish for. We were not born in British raj or communist rule in China or military dictatorship in Burma so we do not know the value of democracy. Filing a court case, protesting a govt decision are all part of rights that everyone is enjoying. Do u want ur leader to follow the law or make mockery of law and the people? U r free to file petition against ANY public representative if u have a case.

2 of those cases does not hold water, there was numerous cases like that in every election. Nationality issue is definitely an issue, evidence is sought and provided, unless there is something terribly wrong, it cant be stopped, They can only stop that person from contesting, Otherwise election will continue. if there was something wrong, he would have got the stick long time back. So, T supporters Dont worry, there are barking dogs on our way to truimph.
