D Srinivas and Laxminarayana file nominations
Andhra Pradesh Congress president D Srinivas, his rival BJP rival Y Lakshminarayana were among the prominent candidates who filed their nominations for the bypolls to 12 assembly seats in Telangana region scheduled to be held on July 27.
Both Srinivas and Lakshminarayana filed their nominations for the Nizamabad Urban assembly constituency.
Senior BJP leaders Prakash Javadekar, in-charge of BJP affairs in Andhra Pradesh, B Dattatreya and others campaigned for Lakshminarayana in Nizamabad today.
Srinivas lost to Lakshminarayana in last year’s assembly elections.
A total of 31 candidates have filed their nominations today, state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) I V Subba Rao said here. With today’s 31 the total number of nominations filed so far reached 52.
The bypolls in the 12 seats are necessitated as the sitting MLAs had quit their posts in support of separate Telangana.
The CEO said the Election Commission is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that complete transparency is maintained in using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
The EVMs to be used in the bypolls are being checked in the presence of representatives of political parties for three days from yesterday to ensure transparency.
Responding to the doubts raised by some political parties over the functioning of EVMs, he said total care is taken that there are no loopholes in using the machines.
Meanwhile, TRS today said it has filed a petition in the High Court seeking a re-look on using EVMs.

I request all Telangana muslim brothers and sisters to vote for BJP en mass to defeat Telangana drohi D.Srinivas in Nizamabad. Let’s make sure DS looses deposit. This by elections are a fight between pro-telangana vs. anti-telangana forces. Let’s strengthen KCR’s hand by re-electing all those resigned in by elections with thumping majority. These by elections will be an eye opener for Congress high command, SKC and Telangana Congress leaders.
Today, many muslim brothers from telangana are leaving to Saudi, Dubai for better life and got cheated and ending up in jails for years. Only telangana formation will stop this. Telangana is rich with minerals like coal, uranium and sandwiched between 2 major rivers Krishna and Godavari. The funds from Telangana state will be fully utilized for the development of Telangana region which will create jobs for Telangana youth and stop the migration to mid-east.
Nizam left 1000 of acres of wakf lands in Hyderabad/RR dist for muslims burial grounds. These lands are occupied by Seemandhra thugs like Lagadapati and made 1000′s of crores out of it in real estate. We will recover these lands once the state is formed and use it for the upliftment of muslims in Telangana.
Seemandhra controlled police dubbed many peace loving and desh bakth muslim brothers from Telangana as ISI agents etc. All the discrimination, loot, and cultural onslaught will stop only with the formation of Telangana state and nothing else.

DS will not even get his deposits in nzb,he has done nothing for nzb then wat he will do for formation of telengana so don't vote for him ,

No matter what, the victory of DS is certain in NZB. HE is spending around 20 crores to get into the assembly.

YES- D.S. should be defeated with huge margin. He is only banking on muslim votes, thinking that muslims will not VOTE for B.J.P.— MY DEAR MUSALMAN BHAI- If this fellow succeeds, the very next moment he will rush to Delhi to prostrate before Madam Gandhi to tell that even without Srikrishna committee report congress can win elections in TELANGANA and if this be the situation now, there will not be any problem in 2014. My appeal to minorities cast your vote for telangana this time and think of B.J.P. afterwards. Please remember I too dont like B.J.P. but now I am canvasing for Laxinarayan victory just for the cause of Telangana.

Sir are you keeping the accounts of Ds ? How do u know that it is 20 crores he is spending,shall we give this information to Election Commission ?
puri, even if he spends 200 crores plus he will not get elected,as the amount of spending goes up his margin to retain deposit may improve and nothing else.you know all the muslims/rajasthanis/marwaris/marathis and telanganites are going to vote enmass to BJP .
