Charlotte Telangana Association – Khelo Telangana Event Summary
Charlotte telangana association celebrated telangana picnic event named “Khelo Telangana” in Charlotte on 10th july. Picnic spot Latta Plantation and Nature Preserve was chosen to give a real treat of the nature. Picnic spot was decorated with balloons and sheers around the trees and stage like setup.
We kicked off the event with Telangana Lingo Quiz on Telangana words and on Telangana History. Pot luck participation beat the last event, everyone was excited to be part of it and brought lot of good food and was highlighted with grilled corn and chicken.
Tug of war, running, soccer kick are the other games kids played. Gents and Ladies joined the fun with dumshell arts and anthyakshari.Utti Kottadam is celebrated in telangana villages during krishna ashtami. We emulated by hanging pinata from a tree and have kids jump and hit it. While we tease them with shooting water using water guns while they jump to hit.
Some new members joined the group and participated with lot of enthusiasm. Association distributed coffee mugs printed with our motto “Khele Jhoome Gaaye, Bhole Jai Telangana” printed on them. Ice cream in cones was served to beat the heat. Some enthusistic crowd stayed back to play volley ball in 4 teams until 8 PM.
