An illustration of the Krishna and Godavari rivers with dams.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Here is an illustration of the Krishna and Godavari rivers with the dams built on them. One can easily notice the injustice meted to Telangana just at the face of it. Does any one need more explanation on why we want Telangana and what we could achieve in our own Telangana

This one reason is sufficient why Telangana state is required. Anyway i am seeing major participation in Telangana movement by students and employs but normal people and villagers should be made aware of injuxtice done to Telangana and they should be preached what are the advantages if Telangana state is formed.

I question people(mainly telanganites) scrapping in this forum.. how many times you educated elite vote in your constituency?
And do you really check what they are doing in your region enjoying all the comforts by your taxes?

@Andhra
So, you mean to say if we check the elite vote what they are doing in our region, We will get our fare share of
1. Water
2. Jobs
3. Respect
that we lost during these 50 yrs.
Stop asking this crap, dont try to deviate the major issues Mr. Andhra. Go check what the people in your constituency are doing dont worry of our Telangana, we can take care of that in our self rule.

In order to get justice to Telangana we need to start working on following projects.
1) Jurala to Pakala canal. Thru gravity
2) Pranahita-Chevella project(mostly gravity)
3) Srisailam left bank canal by tunnel thru gravity
4) Ichampally
Complete/repail following projects
1) Sriram sagar
2) Nizam sagar.
also, Telangana engineers should control Nagarjun sagar so that they can release water to left canal on time and do justice to Nalgonda, Khammmam districts.
None of this going to happen until we get Telangana state.
But current Seema-Andhra dominated govt working/completed only on Polawaram, Dummugudem, Pulichitala, Pothireddipadu proects which will benefit Seema-Andhra. Specially Pothireddi padu head regulator(tunnel) can divert the entire Krishna river to Rayalaseema. YSR idea is to divert Godavari water Krishna guntur districts using Dummugudem and from another canal from Polavaram. Divert entire Krishna water to Rayalaseema(which does not have any rights on Krishna water, because its not in Krishna basin. Rayalaseema is in Penna basin). It is noting but robbery in highest scale. We need to stop it. Only way to stop it is to get Telangana state.
We can always give water to Seema after
Telangana needs are taken care. But what is happening is Seema is taking water by force even when they don’t have rights or permissions from central water commission.

Ram,
I really wonder why many of the people are so ignorant.
Who told Pranahitha – Chevalla is gravity project?
You don’t want polavaram because few villages in Khamman district will submerge. Then how do you think Chatthisgarh will allow Ichhampally which will submerge large parts of their state.
You have no right to malign the name of the great man KL Rao. Read the history of Nagarjuna Sagar project. It was supposed to be built at pulichintala, Only to help Telangana, it was constructed at present location.
Khammam was irrigated by Jalagam Vengala Rao, who incidentally an Andhrite.
Jurala – Pakala flood canal is technically not feasible.
Why don’t you people stop paying taxes and contribute and construct Jurala – pakala canal.

I am asking what the elected representatives of your region what were they doing when the water was taken illegally(if you think). Why your rep’s did not question this before?
All people scrapping as far as i know are sitting in A/C rooms and talking this..
Why rep’s like Jana reddy, venkat reddy, ponnala(ur water minister) did not ask this when all these activities are happening.
No unity between ur people and why you guys grab normal people like us telling that we did some unjustice to you.

@Andhra: Do you know why the sepoy mutiny of 1857 failed ? because of lack of unity and communication among Indians ! But India got independance after 90 yrs,by overcoming all the short fall in fredom struggle !
Telangana would have formed in 1970,but it has not happened due to some of our selfish leaders !Now there is no stopping for Telangana State formation.People are much elightened now.The movement has gone to people and NO leader can control them,if we do not get favourable statement after December 31st !!I think 3 months is enough for you (SA’s) to pack your bags and leave !!

@Andhra
Thank you very much my dear Andhrite atlast you accept the fact that you have stole our water, jobs with the help of our representatives.
Thanks for pointing out our lack of unity and pray to god and try all your dirty means to stop us from being united, because its not too late for us.
You people also know this time its tough for you guys to divide us with such a stubborn leader KCR leading the movement and we have our own media who give facts about the movement.
So best of luck guys you have 3 more months to play your dirty tricks, this is the last quarter for you parasites. No more budget will be allocated to you from our economy, so go plan your budget for the next year.

Reply to from Hyderabad:
I did not tell Pranahitha as gravity project. But Dummugudem is also lift project. Govt working on Dummugudem because it benefits Andhra. But ignoring Pranahitha.
Same with Ichampally. Both Ichampally and Polavaram have inter state disputes and issues with environment clearances. But AP govt is going ahead with Polavaram but completely ignoring Ichampally project.
Sagaf was originally project designed by Hyderabad state govt. Madras govt did not show any interest to build it. Foundation stone was done in 1955 before AP foprmation, and it was supposed to irrigate both the Telangana And Andhra regions equally(right canal for Guntur; left canal for Nalgonda/Khammam). Now sagar irrigates 12lakh acres in Andhra(most of it 2crops/year) while it irrigates less than 5lakh acres(mostly one crop/year). Thanks to Jalagam left canal was extended top Krishna/W.Godavari dists.
Who told Jurala-Pakala is not freasible. When there is a will there is a way. Andhra dominated AP govt looks for every excuse to keep Telangana projects pending while excutes everyh project that benefits Andhra.
Enough of this discrimination. Telangana state is only solution.

Dummugudem lift is scraped.
Pranahitha-Chevalla will be white elephant even if it is constructed by taking up 3500 MW of electricity.
NO idiot in the world will lift 300 TMC of water.
Polavaram got environment clearence because it doesnt submerge the forest.
But substantial part of Chattisgarh will be submerged in ichhampally project. But I think Ichhampally is the only useful project.
Engineering is different from politics. Jurala flood canal is not technically possible.
Sagar goesnt irrigate 2 crops in Andhra. Infact many tail end areas in Ongole section dont get water even for one crop.
Only Lingam guntla and Nalgonda sections give assured water for two crops.
If you have any doubt, please go to WALAMTARI in rajendra nagar and get this info.

AP beaurocrats have colonial mentality. They don’t see any issues with the projects that benefit Andhra. They see issues with all Telangana projects. You are no different from them.
Polavaram is perfect example. They promise all kinds of things to Orissa govt and Chattisgarh govt to get clearances. Or start building it before it got all clearance. But they won’t try to do the same for Ichampally.
Let us have self rule. Let our Telangana engineers figure out what works for Telangana.
Dummugudem is not scrapped. Pranahitha is on paper just to fool Telangana people without allocating funds.
You don’t have answer why sagar is irrigating 12 lakhs of Andhra while irrigating less than 5lakhs of Telangana.
Now you want pulichitala to give water for 3rd crop in Krishna and Guntur. You don’t see any injustice in it.
You simply say Jurala-pakala project is not viable while Telangana engineers are saying its possible. Why should I believe you? You and your beaurocrats never gave damn about Telangana development.
Srisailam right bank canal was started with the excuse of Teluguganga project(to give the water to Madras) in 80s. Now that project turned into (after completion of Pothireddi padu) whole Krishna water will be dioverted to Seema. Srisailam left bank canal which supposed to irrigate Mahboobnagar/Nalgonda was planned same time(20years back) never completed even now.
We can not expect much from such discriminatory govt.
Let us have self rule. Seperate like brothers.

Regarding Polavaram:
According to OUTLOOK India, September 13, 2010
“andhra pradesh polavaram dam – Godavari: The New Narmada?” artcile ..
==
One of the major issues is the massive submergence of forest and cultivated land it will entail in Khammam, the west and east Godavari districts, Chhattisgarh and Orissa. Up to 40,138 hectares will be affected, uprooting a population of two lakh, many of them primitive tribal groups and adivasis. In all, 280 villages would be hit. Besides, reserve forests and a part of the Papikonda wildlife sanctuary would cease to exist. However, regardless of all this, the Union ministry of environment and forests (MOEF) cleared the proposal for diversion of 3,731.07 hectares of forest land for the Indira Sagar project in July 2010. While the AP government celebrates it as an achievement, tribal activists and environmentalists see red.
Irrigation and environment expert Prof T. Shivaji Rao says the dam is being built by blindly ignoring aspects like climate change and global warming. “Over the years, the intensity and duration of storms in the Godavari are going to increase by 20-30 per cent. The AP government cannot alter nature.” He points out that the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, had in 1999 said the maximum flood inflow in the Godavari could be 60 lakh cusecs. The Central Water Commission (CWC) was only slightly more conservative: it put the figure at 50 lakh cusecs in September 2006. “Even if one were to take CWC’s figure, the Polavaram dam would be a ticking time-bomb during floods,” says Shivaji Rao.
Union Nations consultant for Asian irrigation projects, T. Hanumantha Rao, while factoring in these climate change facts, had suggested an alternative to the Polavaram dam in the form of three barrages at Polavaram, between Bhadrachalam and Konavaram and across the Sabari river close to the Orissa border. The AP government ruled out his proposals. “They were technically unviable,” says irrigation minister Ponnala Laxmaiah. Hanumantha Rao says that he has never been against the Polavaram project but these barrages might just present a solution and work out cheaper than the current cost of Rs 17,728.20 crore and will generate more power (1,038 MW).
Both Shivaji Rao and Hanumantha Rao point out that earthen dams are prone to breaches. Since the soil foundation at Polavaram is of clay and sand, a concrete dam is unviable. Other major rivers in the world which have lesser peak flood discharges than Godavari, such as the Yangtze in China, the Mississippi in the US or the Volga in Russia, do not have earthen dams at locations where such high flood flow conditions occur. The Indira Sagar project is located almost at the end of the river where the peak discharge occurs.
Shivaji Rao points out: “In October 2009, the Krishna river saw unprecedented floods, more than 2.7 times the normal flow, and Kurnool was submerged for days together. And there is no dam out there. If such a situation occurs in the Godavari and the Polavaram dam is built, then a breach is almost certain. The maximum flood inflow would be 90 lakh cusecs. Imagine a tsunami of 200 TMC of dam water breaking across the Godavari delta. Overnight, 45 lakh people would have a watery grave.”

Ap govt still going ahead with this project because Andhra lobby wants it.
